Richard
qualified as a Buteyko breathing practitioner in 2005. Professor
Buteyko developed a range of breathing techniques that enabled
individual to improve there health status simply by changing
the way they breathed.
The Buteyko breathing technique has been
clinically trialled and is used around the world. The most
common application is among asthmatics. Professor Buteyko
startled the scientific community by proclaiming to know why
people suffered asthma and by also offering a cure. According
to Buteyko, Asthma is the body’s natural defence mechanism
to combat overbreathing (most asthmatics hyperventilate).
By correcting breathing patterns, asthma symptoms subside.
The beauty of the Buteyko breathing technique, like simulated
altitude training, is that no drugs are involved. Richard
teaches the Buteyko method individually or combined with a
course of Mountain Air Therapy.
