‘I was pretty surprised. The course of IHT left me half a stone lighter. I found my recovery rate at the gym was getting faster. I was even happier to discover that after three weeks of IHT, my blood pressure had fallen by 15%.

Lost 7lbs in 3 weeks and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro

Recommended by a friend, I signed up with The Altitude Centre for Intermittent Hypoxic Training ahead of my attempt to climb Aconcagua in January 2006. The benefits of pre-acclimitisation became readily clear during my ascent and allowed me to get the most from

my high altitude challenge. I firmly believe that IHT played a critical role in my preparations and that it was an important element in my successful achievement of the summit. I will definitely include it in future training and I recommend others to do so too. Fantastic!”

During Training
“I booked my course of IHT with The Altitude Centre because I want to get to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro. So far during my course I have noticed the difference at the gym and in my walking. I’ve improved my 10k running

personal best by time by 51seconds and I left my husband behind on the hills of the Peak district last weekend”.

Result
I arrived back late yesterday after a very successful trip. On 30 June I reached Gilman's Point for sunrise and made it to Uhuru Peak at about 8am. There was no wind at the summit so I was able to enjoy the fantastic views as the ice cliffs changed colour.

I even managed the challenge of 5 press ups on the summit to double some of my sponsorship money!

I experienced no effects of the altitude until about 5,300m when I started to get tired but I had the confidence that I could make it thanks to the altitude training. This confidence and will power saw me through those final switchbacks up the scree slope and the scrambling over the boulders to Gilman's. Obtained a second breathe after the sun rose to get to Uhuru.

Arrived down at Horombo huts at about 5pm. A very long, hard day but a great sense of achievement.

See you in September for a top up!

“Using the IHT surely helped me climb Kilimanjaro at age 70. After 4 vessel bypass heart surgery.".
Dr. Thomas R Eanelli - Medical Director, Eleanor Snow Radiation Oncology Centre, USA

“When I purchased the hypoxicator system, it was my expectation that it would make me stronger, faster, and prepared to quickly acclimatize to the serious heights of world class mountains, so I wasn’t surprised when all the above mentioned things occurred. What shocked me however, was the intangible feeling of well being, the amount of energy and vigour, which came as a welcome residue of the hypoxicator. I feel as if I found the fountain of youth as I feel better each day that goes by”.
