This technique does not deny the role of oxygen in human life. On the contrary, it has been proven that hypoxic training significantly improves oxygen metabolism in the body.

By breathing less oxygen the body adapts to become more efficient, enabling you to breathe less.

When you consider we breathe approximately 17,000 times a day taking in about 8,600 litres of air, small improvements in your oxygen efficiency make a big overall impact on health.

Oxygen is essential in human life but too much can cause unwanted damage to tissue. Spare Oxygen molecules in the body are known as Oxidants, they are highly reactive and will steal any available molecule to make them neutral and stable again. This unwanted theft from healthy molecules causes unwanted cellular damage in many cases. Just like an aging peach, when exposed to excess oxygen the aging process gets speeded up, the skin starts to wrinkle and the fruit begins to rot. This happens in the human body too. When your antioxidant system is overrun by oxidants the balance is upset and illness and disease sets in.

By training your body with hypoxic air you stimulate the antioxidant system to work more efficiently at dealing with these oxidants. Completing a course of hypoxic training is like taking an oxidant vaccine, the principals underlying both are the same.

Following a course of hypoxic training you will be better protected from oxidants via an improved antioxidant system. You will also be more efficient with the air you breathe, so you will need less fuel (oxygen) to run on too. The results, improved health and energy levels in all areas.
