Size My System

To size the correct system we need to know a few things, like:

  • Size of your room
  • How many people will be exercising
  • What simulated altitude you want to achieve
  • How quickly you want to reach altitude
  • Air leakage rates

We can build a variety of systems from one room to multi rooms. We can also add Temperature and humidity control.

Below gives you a guide to the system you may require.

Product Number SKU Maximum Simulated Altitude Users  Room Size (m²) Room Volume (m³)
ALTITUDE 1 ALT-112 5000m 1 0 to 5 0 to 15
ALTITUDE 2 ALT-250 5000m  1 - 2  0 to 5 0 to 15
ALTITUDE 3 ALT-375 5000m  2 - 3 5 to 8.3 15 to 25
ALTITUDE 4 ALT-4100 5000m  4 - 5  8.3 to 16.7 25 to 50
ALTITUDE 5 ALT-5150 5000m  5 - 6  16.7 to 26.7 50 to 80
ALTITUDE 6 ALT-6200 5000m  7 - 10  26.7 to 40 80 to 120
ALTITUDE 7 ALT-7300 5000m  10 - 15  40 to 58.3 120 to 175
ALTITUDE 8 ALT-8500 5000m  15 - 25  58.3 to 83.3 175 to 250
ALTITUDE 9 ALT-9800 5000m  25 - 40  83.3 to 133.3 250 to 400
ALTITUDE 10 ALT-10100 5000m  40+  133.3 to 200 400 to 600

Convert O2 to Metres

Use the tool below to convert the O2 % to a simulated altitude in Metres.

CO2 management

You should aim to limit your CO2 levels to 1.5% for exercise sessions and below 0.5% for long term exposure, such as when sleeping. The table to the right indicates your likely CO2 levels with the system you have selected.

How high do you go?

The scientific literature recommends training between 2,000 – 3,000m for maximum gains.

The Altitude Centre in London is set at 2,700m which equates to 15% O2 (28% reduction in oxygen from the usual 20.9% O2).

Our standard systems are designed to achieve 5,000m (11% O2).
