Performance Specialist

Maisie Abel

After discovering a passion for sport and physical activity early on, Maisie has never looked back. She was ‘that sporty kid’ who took part in everything: from diving to karate and skiing, as well as numerous team sports. She eventually specialised as a track and field athlete competing at county and national level, additionally coaching athletics in her spare time.

Her love for exercise developed the foundations to pursue a career in the subject, which is how Maisie ended up studying Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University. Alongside athletics, she also enjoys the social side of team sports, being particularly fond of netball, basketball and touch rugby. Outside of university Maisie is an avid hiker, undertaking the 3-Peaks Challenge and the Laugavegur Trek across Iceland.

Maisie hopes to bring her enthusiasm for all-things sport to her new role as Performance Specialist at The Altitude Centre. Over the next 12-months Maisie plans to build toward her first marathon, and take on some more challenges at altitude!
