Join Darren Hardy (Virtually) as he completes a world first ultra endurance challenge

26th Nov 2020

The Altitude Centre are proud to be hosting Darren Hardy for his latest challenge. On 4th December, Darren will take on a long distance duathlon composed of a 10 km run, 150 km bike, and final 30 km run, all at a simulated 12000 ft.

Darren will be taking on the ultra endurance challenge at a simulated altitude of 12000 ft

It is the latest in a long line of ultra endurance challenges Darren, himself a veteran who served in Iraq, has undertaken to raise awareness and vital funds for Help For Heroes to continue their work with service personnel and military veterans with injuries, illnesses and wounds, both physical and mental, sustained while serving in the British Armed Forces.

He has already completed 10 iron distance triathlons in 10 days, and a 1000 km charity challenge paddleboarding the width of Scotland before cycling the 779km between Fort William and Badbury, and finishing up with a marathon.

On this latest challenge, we are inviting you to join Darren virtually via Zwift, to provide him with the support he’ll need on this epic challenge. All you need to do is follow The Altitude Centre on Zwift, log in at a time that suits you, and select to join The Altitude Centre in the virtual Zwift world. We’ll be updating you on Darren’s progress throughout the day on our social media so that you can join him for any portion of either run or the bike leg. The anticipated schedule is below:

7am: Run 1 start

8:45 am: Bike start

3:30 pm: Run 2 start

There is no underestimating the physical and mental resilience required for a challenge of this magnitude, nor is there any doubt about how greatly your support on the day will be appreciated, no matter how long you’re able to join for.

For any questions, or to find out more and join Darren on the day, please get in touch.
